About Hunter Calvelage
I got my roots in the dog show world from my family. Our kennel name "Carma Que" originated when my grandma started our breeding program with her sister Carolyn. The “car” for Carolyn and “ma” for Marsha then “Que” for what (in Spanish) because nobody would understand the misspelling of karma.
I cannot thank both Brenda Calvelage, my mother, and Marsha Schaublin, my grandmother, enough for paving the path for me to get where I am today with our Bernese Mountain Dogs. I have been actively involved in the fancy from a very young age. I have always found my personal happiness within my dogs. Nothing brings me a greater joy than having the honor of raising a litter, putting the hard work in the whelping box, and that exciting anticipation that the dog I produced is worthy of presenting to the fancy. If it IS worthy the satification of winning with one of your bredby dogs, priceless.
I spent my childhood showing in juniors and traveling with numerous handlers to acquire a multitude of important skills. Since I aged out of juniors I started branching off and working on my own in both breeding my image Bernese Mountain Dog and handling. I am proud to still be a part of the family affair, and to still breed under the family name. I personally wanted to take dogs further than my family and turn my hobby into a profession. I have had amazing clients and friends that support me. I am blessed to be living my dream at a young age. I am now focusing purely on Carma Que’s dogs and will not be handling professionally anymore.
